Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Locals witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
